Meet the Provider
Amy Speer, PA-C
Amy graduated in 1998 from PA school at UTMB Galveston. She has a diverse work history including solid-organ transplant surgery, wound care, geriatrics, emergency medicine, pediatrics, aesthetics, weight loss and family practice. After becoming a parent, her focus in medicine shifted somewhat when her children experienced some health problems for which traditional “western” medicine treatments were not beneficial. At that time she completed training with the Institute of Functional Medicine while working in her first Functional Medicine practice which emphasized bioidentical hormone replacement, food sensitivity testing, neurotransmitter testing, gut testing, and oxidative stress testing. She spent a year working with an Integrative pediatrician and became familiar with nutritional testing as it applies to children struggling with various health issues including Autism Spectrum Disorders and chronic illness. She has recently completed training under Dr. Neal Rouzier in Advanced Hormone replacement and is comfortable treating both women and men for hormone imbalances and thyroid disorders. She has been certified in PRP for Medical and Aesthetic applications including the Vampire Facial as well as other aesthetic applications such as hair rejuvenation, acne, oily skin and scar treatment. Medical applications for PRP include joint injections, wound healing, treatment for erectile dysfunction, female urinary incontinence and female sexual dysfunction. She has a passion for helping her patients become the best they can be and is constantly working to expand on her current skill set and knowledge base.
